This document describes the passive-interface command, which can be used to control the advertisement of routing information.

The Default Passive Interfaces feature simplifies the configuration of distribution devices by allowing all interfaces to be set as passive by default.

passive-interface command · advertises the defined network in RIP. · activates RIP on the interfaces whose addresses fall within the specified classful networks.
