Just examining the kanji from a non-native lens, 親友 is made out of the character for “parent” (おや/親). Gojo + Geto both consider each other their 親友🤍+親友🖤. They definitely symbolise a couple. Making Geto kill his 親 is a bit like a parallel to the separation of 🤍🖤.
