Jam didn't used to be called jam. It was called conserva, recorded in 1502, conserve, recorded in 1530 & preserve was recorded in 1600. The word 'jam' emerged in 1730s. It may mean the way the fruit is 'jammed' or 'crushed' together. Interesting facts? Are you a jam lover? https://t.co/iJESzmDpwQ
