You can't use it like "it is 10:00 right now" "なおは10:00です" (nao wa juuji desu) You'd say ">>今<<は10:00です" (IMA wa juuji desu) Because that's kind of a different "now" than the one I used before. The "now"s used in the rain sentence mean something more like "furthermore"
