This scene marks a beautiful turning point. The word 期待 (kitai), which they used to mean 'expectation', something both characters avoided to protect themselves from emotional exposure, transforms into 期待する (kitaisuru)—a declaration of vulnerability and trust.❣️ pic.x.com/iurhrphy6t

Another word that was introduced early in the series in which the nuance was buried is 擦り合わせ (suriawase) which was translated to "smooth things out" or "work things out". One would be forgiven to think that this is the author's "deconstruction" of the miscommunication trope, pic.x.com/6guxegook1
