My focus on learning Japanese through games recently. I have the easiest time with 学マス you will see same vocabs over and over, even if you don't remember, you will eventually. Maybe I'm the only one but whenever I'm reading Japanese, I have this weird urge to read the kanji into Sino-Vietnamese. For example, 足が好きです, instead of saying Ashi ga suki desu, my brain goes "Túc ga Hảo-ki desu

返信先:@LghtBlbsThtBlnk他3人Try typing ぎょざ and see what the results for kanji will be given. You want the correct one (餃子)? You have to spell ぎょうざ. Also, there is "u" in Japanese, it's う and ウ. The anglicized spelling of Japanese words is only of value to those who don't know Japanese.

返信先:@EnjoyOtakuAutoI could read the Otaku Auto and the hiragana in 楽しもう too, but I’m absolutely awful with kanji. So the 楽 threw me off. (I only know anime Japanese, sorry. 😂)

In contrast, 熟字訓 (jukujikun) is when kanji are used for meaning only and then a Japanese reading is added unique to the pair. The most well known is probably 今日. 今 can't be きょ, 日 can't make う, but 今日 makes きょう, just like p/h can't be "f" but "ph" can.
