A pantograph is a tool that makes enlarged, miniaturized or up-side down copies of drawings.
Cut four rectangles out of cardboard: two sized 20 X 2.5 cm and two sized 10 X 2.5 cm.
Punch holes near both ends of each rectangle.
Use brads to attach the rectangles to each other like this
Attach the pantograph to the poster board.
Place the square and blank paper under the pantograph.
Attach the pencil and marker.
While you trace, have a look at the marker.
Did the pantograph make an exact copy of the square? Why or why not?
Or detach the pantograph from the poster board. Reattach it at the middle point.
