The $20 Kitchen Island
Now it's time to measure and cut!
Now let's cut our countertop pieces. Trim each of three 1"x10" pieces down to 60 long (our island will be five feet long).
And your stack of wood should look something like this
Hammer everything together using two nails at each junction.
Next, center one of the I"X10" pieces across our frame. Remember that each side will have one inch of overhang. Nail into the four 1"x4"s to secure into place.
Place the legs in each corner.
Take the two 24" pieces and attach them to the legs on either end of the island (8" off of the ground).
Using the sanding block, sand the entire island to smooth out the surfaces and any rough patches.
Let it dry and you're done! You have a new kitchen island!
