The tutorial describes how to generate Code 128 barcodes in Crystal Reports using Barcode Fonts and the Font Formula
Download the Code 128 Font Package.
Right-click the file and select Extract All.
To install the fonts, double-click the EXE.
Double-click the IDAutomation Font Packages folder
Double-click the Crystal Reports Formulas folder
Right-click the barcode and select Copy
In a new report, right-click and select Paste.
Right-click and choose Edit Formula.
Save and close

No additional fonts or components are required.
Open the product folder.
In Design Mode, the barcode field may not resemble the barcode.
Select Save and close.
Select Finish
This will open the formula editor.
Drag the MyBarcode field from the Field Explorer to the report
Select the Font tab.
A Code 128 barcode is generated.

Let's create a barcode that will produce a tab character.
First, to identify the character that will be entered to produce the tab, view the ASCII chart at the IDAutomation Web Site.
Select File and then Print Image File.
Open a Text editor, plug the scanner into the computer, and scan the printed barcode.
Next, look inside the product package and navigate to the Crystal Font Formulas.
In this example, we will use Code 128Auto. Open the text file and copy out the formula.
Paste the formula into the report.
Edit the DataToEncode by adding data or calling a Table.Field.
The data string is encoded as Code 12BAuto. Finally, select the IDAutomationC128 font.

In this example, let's create a barcode based on the Employee ID number.
Select Report Properties.
Select Code.
Copy and paste all of the source code from the text file to the code area.
After inserting the code, select OK to return to the report
Right-click the field and select Expression.
The Native Generator for SSRS requires a monospaced font such as Courier New or Lucida
In Design mode, set the font to Courier New and the point size to 3 points
