Add half a cup of sesame seeds
Toss gently or stir with a wooden spoon
When toasted, place seeds in suribachi
Add one teaspoon of sea salt to the fry pan
Add the salt to the suribachi
Grind the seeds and the salt together in the suribachi
Seeds should be about 50% ground
Store in an air tight jar
When your pan is hot add the sesame seeds and toast for a few minutes
Keep stirring or shaking the pan so as to prevent burning the seeds.
If at any time you smell burning, immediately take the pan off the heat and transfer the seeds to a bowl to cool.
Once toasted take off the heat and transfer to a bowl and allow to cool for a few minutes.
When yours are cooled add to your grinder along with the salt and coarsely grind.
