AVS Actuator Installation
Example : Crown Athlete (ARS210)
Do NOT force the screw to turn. Doing so might result in damages to some parts.
Turn the shaft on the bottom of the AVS actuator to the full counterclockwise position (stiffest).
Make sure the shaft is turned in the correct direction. If the AVS actuator is installed with the shaft in the reverse position, AVS does NOT function properly and some parts might be damaged.
Align the shock absorber top screw and the AVS actuator shaft (both must NOT be moved from the stiffest position) and insert straight down without rotating
Once the AVS bracket position is determined, remove the AVS actuator by pulling straight up without rotating.
Turn the top nut at the specified torque to anchor the AVS bracket firmly in place. Make sure AVS bracket does not rotate when tightening.
Reconfirm both the shock absorber top screw and the AVS actuator shaft are set to the stiffest position.
Please note that the damping force of FLEX AVS dampers can NOT be adjusted manually
An advantage of TEIN's in-house manufacturing
Accurately points out pinholes or scratches, invisible flaws that can cause oil leakage.
Entirely automated oil seal assembly
Upper mount welding machine
2-Layer, 1-Bake powder coating
Shock absorber assembly room
Positive air pressure inside the room prevents dust from entering
Assembly of sealed structure damper
Final crimping with exact axial tension control
Inspection results from each process are proof of our meticulous quality control.
You're able to reduce harsh ride when passing over big gaps or bumps, while maintaining great comfort for all passengers.
This new Hydraulic Bump Stopper system was developed in correlation our rally racing program.
Utilizing H.B.S. allows the car to maintain great stability over such rough roads and big jumps.
We've adapted this racing developed system into our street suspension kits.
The following illustration shows how a vehicle reacts with and without our H.B.S. system.
Without H.B.S. a shock absorber must rely solely on the bump rubber to avoid fully compressing the shock.
With our H.B.S. this same big impact force is converted to thermal energy (heat).
There is a noticeable difference whether with or without H.B.S.
Zooming into this scale, you can see there is quite a big difference.
Here are some of our suspension applications that utilize our H.B.S. system.
