After you've made or purchased the jig, you'll need to set it to fit your router table.
Start tightening two screws until the slider fits snugly into the miter slot.
Mark the center of the bit and draw a line about 1/2 from the bottom.
Use 1/2 to 3/4" bit to rough out the slot with multiple passes of about 3/16" at a time.
These four types of router bits will make most of the Kumiko patterns. 30°, 60°, 120°, and 150°.
Choose the widest router bit (150°) and start shaping the slot. Be sure to use multiple passes. (about 1/8 at a time)
Cut about a 1/32 above the top of the base.
Mark precisely at the center of the cut, which will be your reference point for all your cutting.
Apply wax to all surfaces except the sanding paper area.
