Jujutsu Kenpo And Boxing
The name Kajukenbo is a portmanteau of the arts which it is derived from
It was developed in the late 1940s and founded in 1947 in the Palama Settlement of Oahu, Hawaii.
The art was created by five martial artists, Peter Choo, Frank Ordonez, Joe Holck, George Chang and Adriano Emperado who were experts in different martial arts.
Their main ideas was to develope a more practical and effective way of fighting on the street mainly because of their extreme violent surroundings in Palama Settlement.
The founders followed a simple rule, if a technique worked consistently on the street, then it stayed in the system, if it did not, it was discarded.
Further, students are not required to mimic their teacher, but are encouraged to develop their own methods for the art
Kajukenbo training Incorporates a blend of striking, Kicking. throwing, takedowns, joint locks, weapon disarmament and many more practical self defence techniques adapted to street.
Today, Kajukenbo is practiced by thousands all around the globe.
