📷 This NASA/ESA @HUBBLE_space Telescope image shows NGC 1559, a barred spiral galaxy about 35 million light-years from Earth. This picture is composed of 10 images, each taken with a different filter spanning Hubble’s sensitivity to light, from ultraviolet to near-infrared.

NASA and @ESA’s near-Earth object study teams predict that a very small (~1 meter) #asteroid will harmlessly impact Earth’s atmosphere in a few hours at ~12:40pm EDT (~16:40 UTC) and create a fireball off the east coast of the northern Philippines.

📷 This NASA/ESA @HUBBLE_space Telescope image shows the spiral galaxy IC 4709, a swirling disc filled with stars and dust bands with a faint halo surrounding it. The bright region at its core might more remarkable though, this is an active galactic nucleus (AGN).
